This Wednesday we’re delighted to be playing with Uncover Music Company down at the marvelous venue, The Albany in Deptford! The company is a collective of modern music lovers who set out to create a buzzing new music scene for young people through their frequent 13+ live music events. It’s a great idea, and we feel that there should be more nights like this to inspire the younger generation of musicians.
So, what a line up we have this Wednesday! We’re very excited to be playing alongside two fantastic bands, Psylus and Machines.
We first saw Psylus play at our good friends, Steeze two Sundays ago down at The Honor Oak and they totally blew the roof off. We were left wanting more, so to find out they were going to be on the same bill as us at the Albany was great news. Their sheer instrumental talent for such a young group of musicians is astounding. Pyslus are a dynamic group that cleverly blend genres of Jazz, Hip-Hop and Electronic to create a sound that is truly unique. Each player is as talented as the other. Definitely a band to watch out for. Find out more about them at: www.psylus.co.uk
Back on 15th March, Machines graced the staged at a highly anticipated gig in the New cross Inn, and let me say they did it justice. The newly formed Machines, have been formed from some members of two other fantastic bands called Buffalo Ink and Saltwater Samurai, who play around the south-east area. We’ve previously been billed on many nights with Saltwater Samurai, and there currently putting on nights around the capital. If you’ve heard those bands you know machines can be a recipe for huge success. Machines are an outfit that blend electronic genres over some beautiful crafted melodies from Caragh Cambell. It’s a dark, yet uplifting dreamy soundscapes that’s rich, full of texture and trippy beats that will keep you dancing. Look out for these guys! More info at www.soundcloud.com/machines_
If you’re in the south-east area on Wednesday evening check us out! Its gonna be epic.

On the 28th we headlined Chaos Theory’s JAZZ MARKET in E. London’s Spitalfields @ The LUXE.
The sound was incredible in the venue and by the sounds of the recording the horns were on top form!
Have a listen and check out some of the photos.
The guys at Brainchild and Steeze once again restored our faith in young talent as they came together to put on the first of a new exciting event, The Huddle Up. With live art, food, music and a woodland theme, The Bussey Building was giving off a real festival vibe, perfect to launch Brainchild’s second festival in July 2013.
We were fortunate to play along side two amazing bands, the lively 8-piece brass group Off-Key He-Man, and the up and coming Yancey boys, laying down some chilled hip-hop and jazz vibes.
Keep your eyes peeled for anything this lot are putting on in the near future; Steeze providing a platform for poets, spoken word artists, acoustic acts and much more, and of course the second year of Brainchild festival… definitely one not to miss!
Really looking forward to tomorrow’s show with Off-Key He-Man and our debut collab with Off-key’s trumpeter Nick Walters. Other debuts for the collective include John Dunk on Sax & Ruth Pule on vocals. Bursting with excitement for this new night of live art and jams at Peckham’s Bussey building, looking forward to a totally new vibe! Also take a look out for MVC and The Yancey Boys. DILLA LOVE
Big love out to The Brainchild and Steeze crew for putting this all together x
Chaos Theory present the JAZZ MARKET, a wild and diverse showcase of Jazz/Electronic/Experimental groups across the UK. They put lots of effort into finding acts to ensure a mad good night of fresh and exciting music.
On the 28th of February, Nomad Soul Collective headline the LUXE, in E London’s Spitalfields, among other cross-over genre acts such as W.London’s SELECTRIC (Jaga Jazzist, Floating Points Ensemble), and also Brighton’s OJO DE GRINGA, whom fearlessly change it up with ripping sax, harmonic & electronic textures, up/down/sideways, very exciting sounds.
We’re very much looking forward to this night, we would suggest definitely if you’re in London and you haven’t yet seen us this will be an ideal evening of fresh music.

We’ve spent the last two days 15th & 16th Dec in a beautiful live recording room in London recording our EP ‘Nomad Presents’, it’s been incredibly stressful but rewarding in so many ways. Our horn section overwhelmed all of us on the other side of the glass and was led by the infamous Mr Henry Lawry (also featuring on Trumpet on the EP). Yemi Bolatiwa melts the trickling verse textures with some beautiful singing, really bringing out the soul quality of the B side; she takes the frontal role in leading the listener through a section of closer, more studio-like qualities of the collective. This contrasts with the A side where the sound is ever more filmic and hence instrumental, this gives room for Sam Eagles to turn your head upside down with jaw dropping sax hooks in ‘Into The Ocean’.
We’ll have more information/photographs and hopefully a couple snippets over the xmas to wet your ear buds before it’s release in 2013. BIG TUNE
With our songs written, funds raised, collective formed and eager fans awaiting, all that’s left to do is polish it off with some pre-studio rehearsals. We filmed our latest jam in a box room in Kingston University without our horn section or Yemi our singer. There’s lots more exciting clips than we’ve allowed you to see – but this will do for now :)
Amazingly we’re on £746 on our kickstarter thanks to wonderful support from ongoing contributors, it’s over what we pledged however we will be sure to reward everyone who donates – with over 30 hours to go and for only £5 you can grab yourself pre-order of our EP. Treat yourself ho ho ho!
This time last week we were £500 short of a total cost needed to get this EP recorded. We turned to friends who suggested Kickstarter, a brilliant platform for creative projects with the intentions of building organically and freely without having to sell out!
In just over 6 days we have filled our target
We would like to take this opportunity to individually thank these members of the public for believing in our project,. We’ve been overwhelmed by your generosity and cannot thank you enough!!!
